Chair Caning, Rush Seating & Splint Reed Weaving

We do not repair outdoor wicker. We are not accepting any chair caning jobs until November 2022.

Chair Caning

At The Wickery, we offer the following types of caning repairs right in our store:

  • Hand Caning (aka “Hole-to-Hole” caning): small holes surrounding the circumference/outer layer, individual strands of cane are woven right into the frame. Prices start at $200/chair
  • Pressed cane: machine woven sheet of cane is woven into the frame of the chair. There is a track/groove that surrounds the outer layer. The sheet is secured into the frame with a spline. Prices start at $150/chair
  • Wide Binder Cane or Reed Splint Cane: wider strips of cane are woven into the outer rungs of the chair. Prices start at $200/chair

In addition to the caning, we also provide repairs to rush seating, Denmark Danish cord and American Danish cord.
